Is your player interested in growing as a soccer player? Are you interested in a more structured environment and curriculum that you might find on some recreational teams? We’d love for you to consider the HCYSC Academy for players aged 6-10 (U7-U11).

Our Academy Director, Trevor Rolle, is a true professional with a US Soccer B License and National Youth License for Academy and other credentials. He has developed a program and curriculum that builds players from year to year, from basic ball skills to tactical understanding. Players of the same age practice collectively and are routinely evaluated and placed with fellow Academy players of similar levels to further offer opportunities for them to develop in game situations.

Although you may have heard that an Academy program is a select team for younger players or that a certain level of experience is required, this is not true. A proper Academy program is an opportunity for ANY player who loves the game to develop in an environment explicitly organized to emphasize player development over competitive success. Per US Soccer and South Texas Youth Soccer, acceptance to our Academy program is not dependent on experience or past performance.

“The Academy Program focuses on the complete development of each player. A properly organized program provides an educational environment for boys and girls to learn through playing while emphasizing technical development and gradual tactical understanding.”

“An Academy League is a league that provides teams with an Academy Program to play games and/or friendlies against other Academy Program teams from their program or others. The league's primary purpose is to allow players to apply and reinforce skills learned during their Academy training sessions.”
